Fun one this week! I’m on assignment to shoot for a property client up at Crescent Head (‘The Crescent Estate’). After a couple pre-production meetings about the best way to showcase this absolute gem of a spot on the Macleay Valley coast of NSW, there was nothing left to do other than get out there with the camera at first light.
Crescent Head Point had a nice little right hander breaking down the point. The early crew were already up at it so I had to jump in and join with the camera not long after the sun popped up.
It’s turned into a stunner of a day up here! This spot has always been a favourite of mine. Past visits have varied from family holidays as a kid, to surf trips with mates where we’d sleep in the back of our cars as P-platers, or just stopping off for a surf or swim on longer trips up the coast. Can’t go wrong.
This stretch of the Macleay Valley coast of NSW is one of my all time favourites. Checking out the nearby Racecourse Headland and Delicate Nobby is a must. Racecourse was just an absolute dream. Tucked away from the South-Easterly wind, it was definitely the spot to be for a couple of waves.
Even with the number of people around in town, locals and grey nomads alike, you can still find a whole beach all to yourself with a bit of exploring.
Couldn’t resist a beach drive while in the area. The North end of Goolawah beach is the closest beach access to town. Time to let the air down and get on the sand.
After checking out the surrounding beaches, it was back to town for the rest of the arvo. Killick Creek at high tide is an unreal spot to set up on the beach. It’s a popular spot when the tides are changing as you can float along with the current while snorkelling or on a paddle board.
Sunset’s from the point here go alright too. Watching the sun dip behind the surrounding National Park from Little Nobby, or better yet in the surf, is pretty special.
All in a day’s work. I’m off to the RSL.
As always, thanks for checking out this weeks post and following my work! All photographs are available as prints. Hit the link below to browse collections and read more posts. If you don’t see what you’re after here on my website just shoot me a message and we’ll get it organised for you.
